Breakfast at Dinner Fights Homelessness in Fairfield

Once again Off the Streets BFT teams up with Chip’s of Fairfield to end homelessness in the Greater Bridgeport area!

Some might call it a “crazy dinner” others “reversed dinner.” At Off the Streets BFT and Chips of Fairfield it’s called “Breakfast at Dinner.”  The folks at Chips of Fairfield and volunteers at Off the Streets BFT (OTS BFT) are once again teaming up to help end homelessness in the greater Bridgeport area on Monday, March 14.  The good people of Fairfield and the greater Bridgeport area can open their hearts in a big way to help the homeless at the upcoming “Breakfast at Dinner” fundraiser at Chip’s Family Restaurant of Fairfield located at 525 Tunxis Hill Cut-off. This event offers three seating options, from 5-6 p.m., 6-7 p.m., and 7-8 p.m. Tickets for this event are available for $12 per person which includes two delicious pancakes, two eggs, a choice of sausage or bacon, tea or coffee, and water. Since seating for this event is limited (in fact there are only a handful of tickets available), advance purchase of tickets is strongly advised. If you are interested in purchasing tickets to the event please call 203-374-2158 or visit
Thanks to the generosity of Adam Bajko, manager of Chip’s Family Restaurant of Fairfield, OTS has an opportunity to raise much needed funds to help in paying the much needed security deposit of the homeless and at-risk -of-homelessness … often the main reason for homelessness …  and a chance to give back to the community.

This is indeed a wonderful way for a local, family-oriented business such as Chip’s to help combat the problem of homelessness in the area. Chip’s joined forces with Off the Streets BFT (Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Trumbull), a non-profit charity whose main mission is bridging the gap between local social service agencies and their homeless client’s ability to pay security deposits for housing. Off the Streets BFT also fulfills their clients’ need for basic furnishings and household goods. As a result, all proceeds gained from the “Breakfast at Dinner” event will directly fund Off the Streets BFT’s mission.
Since its founding in 2009, Off the Streets (OTS) has assisted over 300 people. Because OTS is a 100 percent volunteer based charitable organization without a physical office, there is virtually no overhead — approximately $20 per month per chapter covers insurance, postage, and the OTS website. All other funds directly support OTS’s mission. Additionally, due to their relationships with landlords, property managers, and social services OTS can act very quickly — often transitioning a homeless client into a furnished room or apartment in as little as two to fourteen days. OTS operates in Danbury, CT; Lancaster, PA; Huntington Beach, CA; and in Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Trumbull, CT. Additional locations are under development in California.
